January 16, 2017<\/strong><\/p>\n

New Year’s Day was memorable for all the wrong reasons for a 23-year-old Brisbane visitor to the South Burnett.<\/p>\n

The Wishart man was pulled over by police at 10:15am and allegedly recorded a breath alcohol reading of .072.<\/p>\n

He was issued with a notice to appear in court to face a mid-range drink-driving charge and suspended from driving for 24 hours.<\/p>\n

But just an hour later, police on the Bunya Highway, near the Booie-Crawford Road, pulled him over again.<\/p>\n

This time he allegedly blew .059.<\/p>\n

As well as a second drink-driving charge, the man was also charged with driving while under 24-hour suspension.<\/p>\n

He will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on February 20.<\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Kingaroy police have issued 13 traffic infringement notices since New Year, including eight for speeding.<\/strong><\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Police are searching for two firearms stolen from a house in Gooyong Street, Kingaroy, at some time between January 4-15.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The weapons taken were a .223 Remington and a bolt-action .22 rifle.<\/p>\n

Thieves also stole a set of car keys belonging to a Ford Falcon.<\/p>\n

Police inquiries are continuing. Anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers anonymously on 1800-333-000.<\/p>\n

Kingaroy police were called to break up a fight in Doonkuna Street, Kingaroy, about 1:00pm on Wednesday, January 11.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Acting Senior Sergeant Brent Gerber said the incident involved 11 people.<\/p>\n

Police investigations are continuing.<\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Two motorists will face drug-driving charges after being stopped by Kingaroy Police last week.<\/strong><\/p>\n

On January 10, a 45-year-old Kingaroy man was tested in Haly Street, Kingaroy.<\/p>\n

On January 14, a 33-year-old Murgon man was tested on the Bunya Highway at Memerambi.<\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Two Kingaroy men have been arrested on separate return-to-prison warrants after allegedly breaching parole orders.<\/strong><\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/h3>\n

A 61-year-old Inala man has been issued with a traffic ticket after a two-vehicle collision at the corner of Haly and Jarrah streets, Kingaroy, on Saturday.<\/strong><\/p>\n

No one was injured in the crash which occurred after the Inala man allegedly failed to give way.<\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The New Year also began badly for a 21-year-old Kingaroy man who was allegedly found in possession of an ecstasy tablet at 12:45am on January 1.<\/strong><\/p>\n

He has been issued with a notice to appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on January 30.<\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/h3>\n

A 20-year-old Taabinga man will face court on January 30 on three charges related to drug production and possession.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Police allegedly located cannabis plants and dried cannabis when they searched a house in Ivy Street, Kingaroy, on January 11.<\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/h3>\n

On Thursday, police conducted a search of a house in Frangipani Drive, Kingaroy, where they allegedly located cannabis and drug utensils.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Investigations are continuing.<\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/h3>\n

January also didn’t start well for a 44-year-old Kingaroy man.<\/strong><\/p>\n

At 5:30am on New Year’s Day, police allegedly found him passed out at the BP Garage in Kingaroy Street. They issued him with a $365 infringement notice for disorderly behaviour.<\/p>\n

Two days later, the same man allegedly stole soft drinks from the BP Garage. He was issued with a notice to appear in court to face a charge of stealing.<\/p>\n

A week later, the same man allegedly entered the Cardio Central premises in Pound Street at 2:45pm and stole protein powder.<\/p>\n

This time police arrested him and he was remanded in custody.<\/p>\n

He appeared in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on January 11 where he was fined $600 for stealing and committing a public nuisance.<\/p>\n

Kingaroy Police will be strictly enforcing school speed zones when students head back to classes next week.<\/strong><\/p>\n
