Member for Maranoa David Littleproud was full of praise for not-for-profit organisation South Burnett CTC after he enjoyed a tour of the group’s various activities on Monday.<\/p>\n

CTC CEO Nina Temperton and chairman John Box accompanied Mr Littleproud on his visit, which took in programs in Kingaroy and Murgon.<\/p>\n

He visited the CTC Hostel, Family Services, Youth Services, Connections in Murgon and enjoyed lunch at Gumnut Place, CTC’s award-winning Australian Disability Enterprise.<\/p>\n

Mrs Temperton said it was an opportunity for Mr Littleproud to see what CTC was doing as well as some of the challenges it was facing.<\/p>\n

Mr Littleproud said he it was good to see the grassroots delivery of government funding, as well as gain an appreciation that the execution of some of these funding programs could perhaps be better handled.<\/strong><\/p>\n

He said the delivery of funding should be prioritised to organisations that have demonstrated they have strong accountability and delivery outcomes.<\/p>\n

Mr Littleproud said there were other towns in his electorate who were not served as well as the South Burnett, something which local residents possibly didn’t recognise.<\/p>\n

“The South Burnett community as a whole probably doesn’t appreciate the work that CTC does,” he said.<\/p>\n

The visit was also an opportunity for Mr Littleproud to learn more about how the rollout of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) would look like “on the ground” over the next few months.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
