January 7, 2017<\/strong><\/p>\n

A woman was trapped by her lower legs in her wrecked sedan for more than an hour after a single-vehicle crash on the D’Aguilar Highway on Saturday morning.<\/p>\n

Emergency services were called to the incident, near Barkers Creek Flat north of Nanango, about 9:00am, after the woman’s car ran off the road and hit a culvert.<\/p>\n

The highway was closed for more than an hour while emergency personnel worked to free the woman, aged in her 60s, from the vehicle.<\/p>\n

SES volunteers diverted traffic via Bushnells, Brooklands and Parsons roads.<\/p>\n

The Toowoomba-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter landed nearby to allow the helicopter’s critical care doctor and flight paramedic to treat the woman at the scene.<\/p>\n

The woman was cut free and airlifted to Toowoomba Hospital in a stable condition with fractures.<\/p>\n
