Three South Burnett SES volunteers were presented with Meritorious Service Awards at a North Coast Region SES Week ceremony held in Gympie on Saturday afternoon.<\/p>\n

Nanango SES members Valda Weaver<\/strong> and Les Pearson<\/strong>, and Kingaroy member Peter Verbakel<\/strong> were presented with medals marking 10 years’ service.<\/p>\n

The medal is available for volunteers who have given 10 years of active and diligent service to the organisation. An additional clasp is given for every subsequent five years of service.<\/p>\n

These will be the last service medals for South Burnett volunteers awarded under the North Coast Region structure.<\/p>\n

Following a restructuring of \u00a0Emergency Management Queensland – in which seven regions will be reduced to three – the next award event will be under the banner of the South East Queensland Region.<\/p>\n
