The last few days have been a “horrific” time on South Burnett roads, say local police.<\/p>\n

Officer-in-charge of Kingaroy Police, Senior Sergeant Duane Frank, said the trauma began last Thursday afternoon.<\/p>\n

A 56-year-old Murgon man suffered serious leg injuries when he lost control of his Honda Goldwing motorbike on Peterson Drive at Taabinga.<\/p>\n

The motorbike ran off the road and hit gravel.<\/p>\n

Then on Saturday morning, two women were injured – one seriously – when their Honda motorbike ran off the Bunya Highway at Inverlaw (see separate report<\/a><\/strong>)<\/p>\n

On Sunday morning, police and emergency crews were confronted with the fatal head-on crash between a semi-trailer and a Holden Statesman on the D’Aguilar Highway near Nanango (see separate report<\/a><\/strong>)<\/p>\n

At 12:30am on Monday morning, a Ford Falcon travelling from Kingaroy to Nanango left the road, hit a culvert and rolled several times.<\/p>\n

The 23-year-old Nanango man who was driving freed himself from the wreckage. \u00a0He was then taken to Kingaroy Hospital for assessment<\/p>\n

Snr Sgt Frank said checks revealed he was a suspended driver; blood specimens were taken at the hospital to check for alcohol and drugs.<\/p>\n

At 1:00pm on Saturday, police conducting mobile radar intercepts on the Kingaroy-Cooyar Road near Kingaroy pulled over a Subaru being driven by a 62-year-old Ellesmere man.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Police allege the man was doing 154km\/h in the 100km\/h zone.<\/p>\n

“He told police he was just taking the car for a run after he’d done some work on it,” Snr Sgt Frank said.<\/p>\n

Because he was travelling more than 40km\/h above the speed limit, the driver will automatically lose his licence as well as receive a $1137 infringement notice.<\/p>\n
