Toowoomba Regional Council will receive $300,000 to develop a Floodplain Risk Management Plan for six towns identified as being at high risk of flooding.<\/p>\n

These towns are Cooyar, Yarraman, Jondaryan, Crows Nest, Maclagan and Quinalow.<\/p>\n

The assistance is part of a national partnership agreement on natural disaster resilience jointly funded by the Federal and State governments.<\/p>\n

Applications are open to all councils as well as not-for-profit organisations, with a new streamlined application process.<\/p>\n

Deputy Premier Jackie Trad said the new approach had reduced the administrative burden and ensured a shorter turnaround between submitting expressions of interest to being granted approval.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
