SBcare’s new respite centre in Yarraman is a tribute to the generosity of a former resident, the late Eva Cameron.<\/p>\n

Eva Lorna Cameron lived at Upper Yarraman and died at age 89 on December 29, 2011.<\/p>\n

In her will, she left a bequest for “Yarraman and District Aged Care”.<\/p>\n

The executor and solicitors looked around for a like-minded organisation to fulfil the request.<\/p>\n

SBcare CEO Cheryl Dalton said two properties were eventually transferred to SBcare, who had been running aged care respite activities in Yarraman and \/ or \u00a0Blackbutt for some time.<\/p>\n

One property was sold, and the money reinvested in renovating the second property to develop a Day Respite Centre in Douglas Street, Yarraman.<\/p>\n

A small crowd gathered at the new Eva Cameron Centre on Monday morning for the official opening.<\/p>\n

Amongst the guests was a group of Eva’s relatives who travelled from Moura for the occasion.<\/p>\n
