The rocking 1950s returned to the Bunya Mountains for a few hours last Saturday night with the inaugural rock’n’roll dance held at Elz Bistro.<\/p>\n

Guests were encouraged to dress up in their best 1950s and 1960s rock’n’roll fashions, and they were matched by the staff who donned flowing skirts.<\/p>\n

The restaurant was closed for the evening but guests enjoyed hot finger food served on the deck at Dandabah before the music was cranked up and some serious dancing started on the dancefloor.<\/p>\n

Terry Mackrell, who has taken over the regular rock’n’roll dance lessons in Nanango, offered dancing tips to anyone who was interested to learn.<\/p>\n

He said later he had enjoyed the evening, and was hoping that owners Eleanor and Wayne Kratzmann would be organising another rock’n’roll night.<\/p>\n

Former CROW-FM breakfast announcer Wayne slipped back into a familiar role for the night … spinning in the music (although these days, it’s actually just clicking a mouse).<\/p>\n

Some of the guests were visitors staying at the Bunyas, while others were local residents enjoying a local night out.<\/p>\n
