An old-style timber home in the Haly Creek \/ Goodger area was destroyed by fire on Sunday evening.<\/p>\n

Officer-in-charge of Kingaroy Police, Senior Sergeant Duane Frank, said no one was at home when the fire broke out.<\/p>\n

Police, ambulance and 12 fire crews – including both urban and rural brigades – were called to the blaze, near the corner of Stuart Valley Drive and Neale Road, about 7:00pm.<\/p>\n

A QFES spokesperson said the home was engulfed in flames when emergency services arrived.<\/p>\n

The fire was contained by 8:30pm.<\/p>\n

Firefighters then remained on site for several hours monitoring hotspots and dampening down.<\/p>\n

They returned on Monday to again dampen down any hotspots.<\/p>\n

Snr Sgt Frank said the cause of the fire was not suspicious.<\/p>\n
