A South Burnett Regional Council contractor who has been working on the South Burnett Rail Trail has been given permission to swap over to the Swickers fire recovery project.<\/p>\n

A Council spokesperson said Swickers General Manager of Operations, Linchon Hawks, had discussed the needs of the company on Thursday, one of which was the use of the contractor.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe need to get (Swickers) up and running quickly could be expedited by using the contractor … so without question Council has moved to allow this to happen,” Deputy Mayor Kathy Duff said.<\/p>\n

She said that assisting Swickers was the priority because it was such an important business for the region for employment and economic benefits.<\/p>\n

The delay for the finish of the rail trail could be up to three months however there will be areas of the corridor able to be used prior to completion.<\/p>\n
