November 10, 2016<\/strong><\/p>\n

Students from Nanango and Kingaroy State High Schools were amongst almost 300 who attended a recent ‘Discovery Day” at the University of Southern Queensland.<\/p>\n

The day, which attracted students from across southern Queensland, provided an opportunity for Year 7 and 8 students to explore post-school study.<\/p>\n

The students were exposed to a range of career options in interactive university subject area “taster” sessions.<\/p>\n

Executive Director Helen Nolan welcomed the students to USQ Toowoomba<\/p>\n

\u201cGoing to university can be daunting for some but the USQ Discovery Day shows that life at university can be fun and exciting,\u201d Mrs Nolan said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe offered a broad range of activities so the students could experience different courses we have on offer, and perhaps areas they had not thought of before.\u201d<\/p>\n

The students also had the opportunity to speak with USQ Career Development Practitioners and current students about different study and career paths.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
