Waterhole Rocks – Nanango’s annual celebration of all things rock’n’roll – has enjoyed its biggest and best year so far!<\/p>\n

Organising committee spokesman Terry Mackrell said more than 250 caravans booked in and there would have been 1000 people at the showgrounds on Saturday night.<\/p>\n

“It was eight times bigger than the first one (in 2012),” he said.<\/p>\n

The new dancefloor, which had been widened and lengthened this year to accommodate more dancers, was “fantastic”, Terry said.<\/p>\n

“We didn’t have to repair it and it was better for the dancers,” he said.<\/p>\n

“One comment in the suggestion box said it all: ‘We danced for four days and we haven’t got sore knees!’.”<\/p>\n

The South Burnett Gas Guzzlers club hosted a cruise on Saturday up to the Bunya Mountains, which was well-supported.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Terry said the club also used the opportunity of the weekend to present a cheque for $2000 to Kingaroy mum Teigan Magee, whose son Hudson was born in May with a rare hearing problem, bilateral microtia.<\/p>\n

Hudson will require expensive surgery, as well as a string of hearing aids and speech therapy as he grows up.<\/p>\n

A bucket was also passed around at Waterhole Rocks, raising another $300 for young Hudson.<\/p>\n
