Kingaroy last week as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.<\/p>\n<p>The event was organised by Birds Of A Feather &#8211; a team of breast cancer survivors which raises funds for research &#8211; and local breast care nurse Ros Melmeth.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the pink ladies were sporting name tags to recall friends or family members who had died from the disease.<\/p>\n<p>And one of the little figures was wearing a handsome blue bow tie, to remember the 100 or so men who get diagnosed with breast cancer every year in Australia, too.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fast Facts:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Breast cancer is the most common cancer diagnosed in Australian women<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>On average, 44 people will be diagnosed with breast cancer every day<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The number of people being diagnosed with breast cancer in Australia is increasing; but the number of deaths is decreasing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The risk of developing breast cancer increases with age<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The risk of being diagnosed with breast cancer by age 85 is 1-in-8 for women and 1-in-838 for men<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The average age of first diagnosis of breast cancer is 60 years<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The Pink Ladies will be heading up the highway to Cherbourg this week where they will make an appearance on Wednesday (October
