At least 15 black soil farmers in the South Burnett will be the focus of a new Better Catchments Cropping program being co-ordinated locally by the Burnett Catchment Care Association.<\/p>\n

The program will run until 2018 and aims to support projects which will improve long-term farm sustainability.<\/p>\n

Funding will be provided by the Federal Government\u2019s National Landcare Program.<\/p>\n

The Burnett Catchment Care Association (BCCA) has been working with Bean Growers Australia agronomists, DAF and the GRDC to develop the project.<\/p>\n

Small grants will be provided to kick-start on-farm projects, followed by one-on-one property visits.<\/p>\n

There will also be technical workshops for all black soil growers scheduled over the next two years.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
