Trainer Pat Duff is on fire … taking out the Wondai Cup for the second year in a row on Saturday with a sizzling finish.<\/p>\n

Unbowed streaked past the winning post six lengths ahead of its next nearest rival; almost a mirror of last year’s effort when Fasta Than Light won by a similar margin.<\/p>\n

Unbowed was ridden by Wondai-born apprentice Hannah English and started as the favourite in the feature race, the highlight of the South Burnett Race Club’s annual Caulfield Cup meeting.<\/p>\n

It easily beat Leaps and Bounds, with Famechon Baroness bringing home the rest of the field a further seven and three-quarter lengths away.<\/p>\n

The Roy and Glenis Radunz Wondai Cup capped off a meeting that saw all the favorites beaten in the day’s earlier races, much to the chagrin of punters and the delight of bookies.<\/strong><\/p>\n

But for those looking for a relaxing day out at the track, there were plenty of other things to occupy their time, including a live telecast of the Caulfield Cup in the betting ring.<\/p>\n

Many patrons took the opportunity of the pleasant weather to dress up to the Colours Of Spring fashion theme.<\/p>\n

Large numbers of elegantly attired women and men could be seen around the course, and a big field entered the Ladies Fashions Of The Field competition where – in addition to the usual prizes – Cedric Duff, from Glendalough Brangus Stud at Bowenville, was offering a $900 watch to the winner.<\/p>\n

A busload of patrons also came to the track from Gympie. Julie Jensen was probably glad she joined the tour when the judges selected her as the day’s most fashionably attired woman.<\/p>\n

Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington took the opportunity of a rare free day off from her busy schedule as Deputy Opposition Leader to enjoy a day out at the track.<\/p>\n

South Burnett Deputy Mayor Kathy Duff was kept busy most of the day organising the fashion competition; and Cr Roz Frohloff, who holds the Council’s Sports portfolio, came with members of the Nanango Race Club to lend support to the meeting.<\/p>\n
