AGL Energy has invited South Burnett residents to attend drop-in information sessions to help people those interested in making a submission to the Coopers Gap Wind Farm Environmental Impact Statement (EIS).<\/p>\n

The EIS is on public exhibition until November 7.<\/p>\n

The first session is this afternoon (October 13), and the second on October 15.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cI would like to encourage attendance to these sessions as they are a great opportunity to meet the project team, learn more about the project and ask questions,” Coopers Gap Wind Farm project manager Neil Cooke said.<\/p>\n

\u201cMaking a submission is your chance to have your say and provide valuable feedback on the project to help inform the development of the EIS.\u201d<\/p>\n

The first community drop-in information session will be held on Thursday afternoon directly after the Coopers Gap Wind Farm Community Consultative Committee meeting at the Cooranga North Memorial Hall, Cooranga-Niagara Road, Cooranga North from 1:00pm to 3:00pm.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u201cWe are working towards a final decision being made on whether the project proceeds to construction,” Mr Cooke said.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“In the meantime we are happy with how planning is progressing. Other factors yet to be considered include results of the tender, the final scope of the project, further development activities and financing arrangements.\u201d<\/p>\n

A further community drop-in information session will be held on Saturday, October 15, from 9:00am-1:00pm at the Bell Bunya Community Centre, 71 Maxwell Street, Bell.<\/p>\n

The EIS can be viewed online<\/a>\u00a0and is also\u00a0on display at the libraries at Bell, Chinchilla, Dalby, Jandowae, Blackbutt, Kingaroy, Nanango, Wondai and Proston.<\/strong><\/p>\n
