Shaleise Law’s Aussie Rules dreams are coming true with her draft pick on Wednesday by the Brisbane Lions.<\/p>\n

The new AFL Women’s competition will get underway in February and Shaleise will be right among the action.<\/p>\n

Earlier this year, the former Cherbourg resident was selected in the 2016 Youth Girls All Stars squad.<\/p>\n

She also played for the Lions during the 10-match Exhibition Series this year organised as a lead-up to the full women\u2019s competition next year.<\/p>\n

Shaleise came in as Pick 95 on Wednesday, described by the Lions as “small, lightning fast, has defensive pressure and kicks freak goals”.<\/p>\n

The inaugural women\u2019s competition will be made up of eight teams: four from Victoria and one each from Queensland, NSW, South Australia and Western Australia.<\/p>\n

Pre-season will begin on November 21 and clubs will play one practice match in January.<\/p>\n

The games schedule is yet to be finalised, but clubs will play each other once, with the top two teams playing off in a final.<\/p>\n

There was a total of 144 players chosen by the eight clubs on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

The Brisbane Lions’ selections were Emily Bates, Tahlia Randall, Nicole Hildebrand, Leah Kaslar, Jessica Wuetschner, Alexandra Anderson, Breanna Koenen, Megan Hunt, Samantha Virgo, Kate Lutkins, Kate McCarthy, Shaleise Law, Selina Goodman, Nikki Wallace, Jamie Stanton, Jade Ransfield and Brittany Gibson.<\/p>\n
