Six fire crews were called to a bushfire burning near Beeron Road, Deeri Derra, north-east of Boondooma, on Tuesday afternoon.<\/p>\n

The fire, which broke out about 12:30pm, was burning safely and posing no threat to properties.<\/p>\n

Fire crews were conducting back burning operations to strengthen containment lines.<\/p>\n

This fire is expected to burn for a number of days.<\/p>\n

Residents between Beeron Road, Deeri Derra, and Mundubbera will be affected by smoke throughout Tuesday evening.<\/p>\n

Residents are urged to close their windows and doors and if suffering from a respiratory illness, keep medications close by.<\/p>\n

Motorists should drive with caution and to conditions.<\/p>\n
