Former Nanango Shire Mayor Reg McCallum will launch a new Legends Of The South Burnett series of local history talks at Nanango Library on Monday, October 17<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

October 11, 2016<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Nanango Library will be launching a new series of local history talks on Monday, October 17.<\/p>\n

Former Nanango Shire Mayor Reg McCallum will deliver the first one, discussing the history of Nanango and its surrounding districts, as well as reminiscing about his involvement with the Blackbutt-Linville Rail Trail, the pioneer walk and many of his other endeavours.<\/p>\n

Mary Green, from the South Burnett Regional Council’s History and Heritage staff, said the library are currently compiling a list of subjects for future talks.<\/p>\n

Potential topics include The Colonial Past, Romance of the Steam Engine, Nuts about Kingaroy and Wine, and Cheese and Heritage.<\/p>\n

The library hopes to present new talks each month under the banner “Legends Of The South Burnett”.<\/p>\n

“Reg well and truly fits the bill as a South Burnett legend, and we are inviting everyone to come and join us at the Nanango Library for a journey through history with him,” Mary said.<\/p>\n

The talk will be held at 10:00am, and light refreshments will be provided.<\/p>\n

There is no charge to attend, but to help plan the catering bookings are essential.<\/p>\n
