BreastScreen Queensland’s Mobile Service is back in the South Burnett.<\/p>\n

Women aged 40 years and over are being encouraged to take advantage of the state-of-the-art digital mobile service, which is currently in Nanango.<\/p>\n

BreastScreen Queensland Toowoomba Service health promotion officer Jessica Hobbs it was a great opportunity for women to look after their health while remaining in their local communities.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe mobile service visits selected rural locations every two years and is always very well received,\u201d Ms Hobbs said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a great opportunity for women to book in for their first breast screen, or to come back for their regular two-yearly screen.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe know that early detection of women\u2019s cancers provides the best chance of survival and quality of life, so if you haven\u2019t been keeping up-to-date with these important checks, now is the time to do so.\u201d<\/p>\n

The mobile service will be at Nanango Hospital until November 25.<\/p>\n

A second van will be at Kingaroy Hospital from October 17 to January 20.<\/p>\n

Ms Hobbs said women aged 40 and over should have a breast screen every two years.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cIn 2015 more than 15,000 Australian women were diagnosed with breast cancer,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne in eight Queensland women will be diagnosed with breast cancer and of those 90 per cent will have no family history of the illness.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s why we encourage all women aged 40 and over to have a free breast screen every two years, and also be sure to carry out regular breast checks.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you find something unusual, or have any concerns about your breast health, see your GP as soon as possible.\u201d<\/p>\n

Women aged 40 and over can phone 13-20-50 to book a free breast screen with the mobile service when it is either Kingaroy or Nanango.<\/p>\n
