Dancers at this year’s Waterhole Rocks rock’n’roll extravaganza at Nanango Showgrounds will be able to twist and jive without care on a specially extended dancefloor.<\/p>\n

Volunteers from the Nanango Men’s Shed have joined with Nanango Show Society volunteers and members of the South Burnett Gas Guzzlers on the project.<\/p>\n

The roller doors in the canteen area have been shifted to the end of the building.<\/p>\n

The stage has also been re-located into the eastern corner, further opening out the dancing area.<\/p>\n

New timbers have been laid underneath the floor, with 50 new sheets of formply on top.<\/p>\n

Terry Mackrell, who is supervising the project, said the new dance floor was being carefully laid so that it was perfectly straight and there were no gaps between the boards for dancers to catch their feet.<\/p>\n

After Waterhole Rocks is over, the dance floor will be pulled up and put into storage for next year.<\/p>\n

Waterhole Rocks will run from October 13-16.<\/p>\n

As well as the live music and dancing, there will be hot rods, classic cars and vintage caravans.<\/p>\n

Music will be provided by Old 45s, Dance On, Jeff Hancox, Billy Guy, HeartBeat and Peter Wissmann.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
