Almost 6000 more adult dental procedures were carried out in the Darling Downs Hospital and Health Service region last year than during the previous 12 months.<\/p>\n

Dental waiting lists were also reduced by 54 per cent, resulting in no patients waiting longer than\u00a0the clinically recommended time for treatment.<\/p>\n

There were also more births, more hours of surgery conducted and more people treated in Emergency departments.<\/p>\n

The statistics were included in the Health Services’ annual report which was tabled in State Parliament on Friday afternoon.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Darling Downs Hospital and Health Service region includes all the hospitals and community health centres in the South Burnett.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cOnce again we have seen an increase in activity which has resulted in great outcomes for patients,\u201d Board chairman Mike Horan said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Darling Downs Hospital and Health Service is the only health service in Queensland that\u00a0has no patients waiting longer than clinically recommended for specialist outpatient\u00a0appointments.<\/p>\n

\u201cAdditionally, for the past two-and-a-half years, there has been no long waits for elective\u00a0surgeries.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mr Horan praised the efforts of staff\u00a0to achieve these results.<\/p>\n
