It’s not a new hospital, but parts of Kingaroy Hospital will be getting a mini makeover during the next few months.<\/p>\n

Eight ensuites at the hospital will be refurbished as part of the Darling Downs Hospital and Health Service\u2019s Backlog Maintenance Remediation Program.<\/p>\n

As well, roadways in the hospital complex will be resurfaced.<\/p>\n

The works began this month and are expected to continue until early next year.<\/p>\n

DDHHS Acting South Burnett Cluster Operations Manager Steven McNamara said the work could lead to unavoidable, minor disruptions to patient and visitor comfort for short periods.<\/p>\n

\u201cHowever, the project officers have worked hard to ensure these disruptions are minimised,\u201d Mr McNamara said.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor example, some of the painting will be carried out during weekends and nights, and the road works will be conducted in stages to minimise noise and the number of traffic diversions.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Backlog Maintenance Remediation Program is a four-year, $50 million maintenance program across the Darling Downs Hospital and Health Service, funded by the State Government.<\/p>\n

Works completed so far in the South Burnett under this program include:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  • Replacement of electrical infrastructure at Murgon, Cherbourg and Nanango hospitals<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
      \n
    • Refurbishment of Cherbourg Hospital’s kitchen and bathrooms<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
        \n
      • Upgrade to the Nanango helipad<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
          \n
        • Painting and minor refurbishment at various South Burnett hospital sites.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
