Three teenagers will face charges following police investigations into recent damage at the Mt Wooroolin picnic area.<\/p>\n

Officer-in-charge of Kingaroy Police, Senior Sergeant Duane Frank, said an 18-year-old Kingaroy woman would face a charge of unauthorised damage after she allegedly knocked over bollards at Mt Wooroolin.<\/p>\n

Two 18-year-old men had also been issued with notices to appear in court to face charges of careless driving in relation to hand-brake spins and skidding on the grassed area.<\/p>\n

Snr Sgt Frank said the two men had been active on social media where their posts had been seen by police.<\/p>\n

“The community has a right to be disgusted by the behaviour of these young adults,” Snr Sgt Frank said.<\/p>\n

He said the trio were part of a core group of “boy racers”.<\/p>\n

They will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on October 24.<\/p>\n

“Police are happy that we have resolved this because there has been a lot of outrage in the community,” he said.<\/p>\n

Snr Sgt Frank said police would consider seeking a court order for restitution to be paid.<\/p>\n

Council workers were at the Mt Wooroolin picnic area on Monday morning.<\/p>\n

They have erected a chain between the bollards in a bid to stop people driving on the grassed area.<\/p>\n

They also top-dressed the damaged turf with a layer of soil.<\/p>\n
