Education Minister John-Paul Langbroek is encouraging State School students to nominate to take part in next year\u2019s Creative Generation (CGEN) program and the MOST instrumental music program.<\/p>\n

Mr Langbroek said community support and a new public-private partnership arrangement for MOST had enabled both school music programs to continue in 2013.<\/p>\n

\u201cCreative Generation and MOST encourage students to develop their skills in the performing arts and showcase their outstanding abilities to wide audiences,\u201d Mr Langbroek said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is important to nurture creativity and confidence in young people, and I am pleased to announce students will have the chance to nominate and shine again on stage in 2013.<\/p>\n

\u201cI thank international venue management organisation AEG Ogden for joining with the Newman Government in a public-private partnership to provide the funding to enable Fanfare and MOST to go ahead next year.\u201d<\/p>\n

MOST is a biennial 10-day instrumental music camp for high school students.<\/p>\n

\u201cUp to 77 high school students will have the opportunity to attend next year\u2019s MOST residential camp where they will work with professional conductors and tutors in a series of intensive rehearsals, workshops, tutorials and performances,\u201d Mr Langbroek said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis learning experience brings gifted and talented instrumental students together and culminates in a gala concert at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre in June.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mr Langbroek said nominations were also open for the annual Creative Generation \u2013 State Schools Onstage program which will consist of workshops and a performance in July.<\/p>\n

\u201cQueensland\u2019s largest youth performance involves more than 1500 state school students who have a special talent and passion for singing, dancing, acting and music,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn its eight-year history, Creative Generation has successfully launched the professional careers of many young Queenslanders who have gone on to star in theatre, television and musical productions.\u201d<\/p>\n
