Celebrity chef Matt Golinski ... coming to Murgon<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

South Burnett residents will be treated to a visit next week from celebrity chef Matt Golinski at a free community health expo.<\/p>\n

The “Focus on You” expo will be held at the Murgon PCYC next Tuesday (August 30) from 5:00pm to\u00a08:30pm.<\/p>\n

South Burnett Palliative Care Coordinator Vivette\u00a0White said the expo was organised in response to the growing demand on the region\u2019s health\u00a0services.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe event is aimed at educating the community about the number of health services that are
\navailable to them locally,\u201d Ms White said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere will be more than 20 local health providers in attendance who will provide information\u00a0about accessing services.<\/p>\n

\u201cSouth Burnett community health nurses will be on hand to provide blood sugar testing and
\ncholesterol levels.<\/p>\n

“They will also present a talk about how to prevent chronic disease and how\u00a0to have a healthy heart.<\/p>\n

“We want to educate people about healthy lifestyle choices to prevent\u00a0chronic disease.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is an opportunity for people to ask questions and to see what is available in their communities\u00a0that is of benefit to them.\u201d<\/p>\n

Chef Matt Golinski will also conduct a cooking demonstration.<\/p>\n

\u201cMatt will share some of his personal experiences during an inspirational talk,” Ms White said.<\/p>\n

“He will also (demonstrate) how easy it can be to create healthy, home-cooked meals.\u201d<\/p>\n

The expo is supported by the Burnett Inland Economic Development Organisation (BIEDO) with
\nfunding provided by the Wondai Hospital Auxiliary.<\/p>\n

The expo will also include workshops on men\u2019s health, healthy thinking, chronic\u00a0disease and gentle movement as well as a free sausage sizzle, lucky door prizes, raffles and\u00a0sample bags.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
