Member for Wide Bay Llew O’Brien had some good news on Monday for communities along the Wide Bay Highway.<\/p>\n

The Federal Government’s\u00a0Mobile Black Spots Program will support new mobile phone base stations to extend coverage to the Widgee and Woolooga area.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese communities have long fought for mobile phone coverage and I\u2019m pleased to announce the Coalition Government has heard their call and is helping them to connect to the mobile network,\u201d Mr O\u2019Brien said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe new mobile phone base stations will boost coverage and assist emergency services, local businesses and residents, and visitors to the region.”<\/p>\n

Mr O’Brien also announced that Bells Bridge will soon have access to faster and more reliable internet access via fixed wireless NBN.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cNBN\u00a0broadband is on its way to Bells Bridge, opening up a range of new opportunities for business, students, and local residents,\u201d Mr O\u2019Brien said.<\/p>\n

He said NBN had that\u00a0advised final network designs have\u00a0been completed and residents would soon see sub-contractors working in the area.<\/p>\n

About 130 homes and businesses in the Bells Bridge area will be able to connect to the NBN once the work is completed.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
