About 200 people packed into Proston Community Hall on Thursday to enjoy lunch and celebrate Queensland Seniors Week.<\/p>\n

The day was hosted by Proston Over 50s Club, Proston QCWA and the Proston Show Society.<\/p>\n

Buses came from Kingaroy, Nanango, Wondai and Murgon as well as participants from Blackbutt and outside the South Burnett.<\/p>\n

The seniors were entertained by Proston schoolchildren singing as well as recitals, various choral groups and solo acts.<\/p>\n

A hot roast lunch was served and the seniors enjoyed a great day of camaraderie and celebration.<\/p>\n

Deputy Mayor Kathy Duff opened the day with a pink ribbon and both she and Cr Ros Heit spoke about the value and contribution of seniors to the community.<\/p>\n
