The Nanango and Districts Garden Club celebrated its 25th Anniversary with a special morning tea at Ringsfield House recently.<\/p>\n

The club was founded in 1991, and members meet on the first Thursday of each month – except January – at different gardens in the Nanango area to share tips about better gardening.<\/p>\n

To commemorate the milestone anniversary, female club members wore floral hats and dresses, which added bright splashes of colour to Ringsfield’s verandah.<\/p>\n

Students from St. Patrick\u2019s Primary School provided some light entertainment by singing selected songs about flowers, then stayed on to enjoy morning tea with the club.<\/p>\n

Garden club member Graham Vercoe also unveiled a book he had written for the anniversary – \u2018Celebration of Gardening\u2019 – which was compiled from the club\u2018s minutes and newsletters, with the help and memories of many current and former club members.<\/p>\n

This $5 book is now available for purchase from the club’s Secretary.<\/p>\n

Ms Lee Moles, the Ambassador for the Queensland Council of Garden Clubs, was a special guest speaker at the event, and she gave a very interesting talk about her work with the QCGC.<\/p>\n

After the morning tea concluded, the club announced it had arranged a bus trip to the Nambour Garden Expo.<\/p>\n

That trip proved to be a very successful and enjoyable day for everyone who went.<\/p>\n
