Toowoomba Tigers just held on to defeat the South Burnett Saints in a gripping Darling Downs AFL contest played at Lyle Vidler Oval in Kingaroy on Saturday.<\/p>\n

The two sides were evenly matched, with the Saints just one point ahead at the first change:\u00a05.3 (33) to\u00a05.2 (32).<\/p>\n

At half-time, the Tigers had drawn ahead by a goal but there was still nothing in it:\u00a09.6 (60) to\u00a08.6 (54).<\/p>\n

During the third quarter, the Saints cut back the Tigers’ six point lead to just two points going into the final term.<\/p>\n

But sadly for the home crowd, when the full-time siren blew, the Tigers were still ahead after an exciting game of Australian Rules.<\/p>\n

The final score was Toowoomba Tigers 15.14 (104) to South Burnett Saints\u00a013.17 (95).<\/p>\n

Saints’ goals were kicked by\u00a0Ty Snow (5), Carl Stevenson (4), Adam Bowater (2), Dylan Bowater and Jordan Pressnell.<\/p>\n

The South Burnett side is still holding down fourth spot on the competition ladder.<\/p>\n

Earlier in the day, the Saints’ women’s side came back to earth when they came up against competition leaders, the Toowoomba Tigers.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Saints had put together back-to-back wins, but were outclassed by the Tigers, going down\u00a026.11 (167) to\u00a04.3 (27).<\/p>\n

Saints’ goals were kicked by\u00a0Jessica Langton (2) and Holly Ludke (2).<\/p>\n
