An 18-year-old South Burnett man was taken to hospital with minor injuries after a single vehicle crash on the D’Aguilar Highway at Coolabunia on Wednesday morning.<\/p>\n

Officer-in-charge of Kingaroy Police, Senior Sergeant Duane Frank, said the crash occurred about 5:15am near Sommerfields Lane.<\/p>\n

Snr Sgt Frank said the man was driving into Kingaroy on his way to work when his vehicle ran off the road into gravel.<\/p>\n

It appeared the driver had then over-corrected and lost control.<\/p>\n

The Mazda sedan hit a culvert and then slammed into a tree.<\/p>\n

“He was very lucky. It was another crash that could well have been fatal,” Snr Sgt Frank said.<\/p>\n

The driver was taken by ambulance to Kingaroy Hospital with minor injuries to his arm and later released.<\/p>\n

Police have issued him with a ticket for failing to maintain proper control of a vehicle.<\/p>\n

Snr Sgt Frank said fatigue may have contributed to the crash.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
