Queenslanders are being urged to get behind a Crime Stoppers campaign to help police track down 19 people wanted in connection with various offences.<\/p>\n

“Operation ROAM: Fugitive Hunt” is a national campaign aimed at locating and arresting wanted people across Australia.<\/p>\n

State Crime Command Assistant Commissioner Maurice Carless said Operation ROAM had a strong record of success in Queensland.<\/p>\n

\u201cEleven of the 20 offenders wanted last year were located, several of those in Queensland,\u201d Assistant Commissioner Carless said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe want to replicate this success again in 2016 so we are asking people right across the State to become familiar with these 19 faces.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese offenders are known to roam the country and settle in a community where people don\u2019t know them and therefore won\u2019t be looking for them.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou never know … (they) could be your neighbour, they might catch your train or you might spot them while you\u2019re doing the groceries.\u201d<\/p>\n

Crime Stoppers Chairman Bryan Roach said information provided by the public could be the missing piece of the puzzle police need to catch these fugitives.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe want people to log on to www.fugitivehunt.com.au<\/a><\/strong> and see if they recognise a face and report anything they know about them to Crime Stoppers,\u201d Mr Roach said.<\/p>\n

\u201cA reward of up to $1000 is also offered to the person who provides information that leads to an arrest of any of these wanted people.\u201d<\/p>\n

Police urge people not to approach any of the people listed but rather call Crime Stoppers on 1800-333-000 or report them\u00a0online<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n
