Members of the Kingaroy Quota Club enjoyed a tour of Kingaroy Ambulance Station on Wednesday night, and also came away with some new skills.<\/p>\n

The group was taken through a CPR awareness session by officer-in-charge Travis Cramb and Local Ambulance Committee (LAC) president John Box.<\/p>\n

The Quota members had the opportunity to practise their new skills on mini plastic mannequins.<\/p>\n

They also learned more about the work of the LAC, which works to raise funds for training equipment at the station.<\/p>\n

In recent years, the LAC has purchased training books as well as anatomically correct training dummies.<\/p>\n

Mr Box said the next target was to raise $11,000 to buy a fully programmable child mannequin. The station already has two adult training mannequins which are so lifelike they actually “breathe” and have a heart beat.<\/p>\n

Paramedics can take the dummy’s blood pressure, and even stick in needles.<\/p>\n
