Murgon’s Rotary Club has been very busy recently, making donations to several very worthwhile organisations.<\/p>\n

The club recently donated $1000 to LifeFlight (previously known as CareFlight), an organisation which has assisted many South Burnett residents in times of medical emergencies.<\/p>\n

The club also donated $1000 to The McGrath Foundation, whose breast care nurses provide wonderful support for women with breast cancer. These funds were raised from the annual Barambah Bush Bash which is held at the beginning of May each year.<\/p>\n

Breast care nurse Ros Melmeth encouraged anyone who requires assistance to contact her on 0467-718-068. Leave a message if she is unavailable and she will return your call at her earliest opportunity.<\/p>\n

On behalf of the South Burnett Regional Council, Deputy Mayor Kathy Duff recently accepted a cheque for $500 from club president Mark Quinn.<\/p>\n

The money will be put towards new playground equipment to be installed in the soon-to-be-named Murgon Rotary and Youth Park in Gore Street, Murgon.<\/p>\n

The club has also begun a program to help The Ration Shed Museum in Cherbourg establish a more efficient ICT network.<\/p>\n

Mr Farhad Kamal refurbishes secondhand equipment in his spare time, and the planned computer network will include a server, wireless access points, 10 laptops and a network printer.<\/p>\n

Several members have also been occupied for many months organising the annual Murgon Music Muster, which will be held from November 3-6.<\/p>\n

Keep this date in mind for a wonderful event, which brings visitors and their dollars to our local communities.<\/p>\n

The EarlyAct Club from Murgon State School has also been busy, and recently donated $287.10 to Rotary\u2019s Polio Plus campaign, which aids in the eradication of polio throughout the world.<\/p>\n

The children raised these funds through their \u201cPaint a Pinkie\u201d campaign.<\/p>\n
