Wondai Art Gallery curator Elaine Madill is now running three-monthly business breakfasts to help bring Wondai’s business community together to talk and swap ideas<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Wondai may not have a Chamber of Commerce any more, but it may have the makings of something new after 23 locals attended a business breakfast at the Wondai Regional Art Gallery on Wednesday morning.<\/p>\n

The breakfast was organised by gallery curator Elaine Madill and the Wondai Lions Club, who provided the catering.<\/p>\n

South Burnett businessman Ken Mills was the meeting’s guest speaker, and he gave a 30-minute talk about the most important aspects of running a successful business.<\/p>\n

Mrs Madill said the meeting had been “a very positive experience” for everyone who attended.<\/p>\n

“Ken gave an insightful talk about the rules businesses need to obey if they’re going to be successful, and I think everyone took something away from that,” she said.<\/p>\n

“It was also good to see our businesses get together and swap ideas.<\/p>\n

“Some people had never met one another before, and they got to do that at the meeting.”<\/p>\n

She now plans to hold further breakfasts “every three months or so”, with the next planned for November.<\/p>\n

Mrs Madill said the main purpose of the breakfast was to get the town’s business people talking to one another, not to form a new group.<\/strong><\/p>\n

But this could occur at some time in the future if there was a general feeling the town needed it.<\/p>\n

“We’ll have the Rail Trail coming through Wondai before the end of the year, and I’m certain Wondai will see a lot of benefits from it,” Elaine said.<\/p>\n

“I hope it will encourage new businesses to start up.<\/p>\n

“And if that happens, then we’ll want to have something in place that can welcome them to town.<\/p>\n

“Maybe it will be our three monthly breakfasts, maybe something else.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
