Proteco owner Josh Gadischke will be taking part in a ground-breaking trade mission to Shanghai in October.<\/p>\n

The trip, organised by Toowoomba and Surat Basin Enterprise (TSBE), will take representatives from more than 200 Darling Downs and South Burnett businesses to China.<\/p>\n

The businesses will taking part in a five-day trade mission to seek new opportunities in one of the world’s biggest markets.<\/p>\n

Proteco already exports products to China but Josh believes the Kingaroy-based company can expand its existing trade ties through the trip.<\/p>\n

The mission will fly out from Wellcamp Airport on a Qantas jet.<\/p>\n

It will be the first international passenger flight to leave the new airport.<\/p>\n

TSBE CEO Ben Lyons said the trade delegation would be a major milestone for the business community. <\/strong><\/p>\n

“The China-Australia Free Trade Agreement provides Australian business with many opportunities,” he said.<\/p>\n

“We have put together a program utilising our extensive networks in Shanghai and China more broadly, with meetings and site visits, to give businesses an in-depth view and understanding of the opportunities.”<\/p>\n

The delegation will provide access to some of China’s most renowned companies and facilitate tailored business matching opportunities between Australian and Chinese companies.<\/p>\n

Toowoomba Regional Council Mayor Paul Antonio said the project represented a fantastic opportunity for the region to further build its relationship with China.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“We are seeing economic possibilities open up for our region that we would never have dreamed of 20 years ago,” he said.<\/p>\n

Wagners chairman John Wagner said any company considering doing business with China should be part of the delegation.<\/p>\n

“This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to network with like-minded people who regularly deal with China,” he said.<\/p>\n

“TSBE has strong business connections in Shanghai and Beijing and I think this is a fantastic opportunity to access key players in the world’s biggest economic powerhouse.”<\/p>\n
