The South Burnett Regional Council has given the go-ahead for the development of a 44 unit retirement village near Kingaroy’s CBD.<\/p>\n

At Wednesday’s monthly meeting, Councillors were told Salt Enterprises Pty Ltd was seeking development approval to build a modern retirement village on a 5-acre block between Markwell Street and Logan Road.<\/p>\n

The company proposed building 17 dwelling units in the first stage of the project; 12 more units in the second stage; and a further 15 units in the final stage.<\/p>\n

The gated complex would feature a mix of one, two and three-bedroom units, along with communal facilities.<\/p>\n

Plans for the complex were lodged in February this year, and public objections were canvassed until April.<\/p>\n

The block that will house the project was purchased almost 12 months ago.<\/p>\n

However, sources told southburnett.com.au<\/strong> the purchase was conditional on Star Enterprises gaining Council approval for the retirement village, so settlement only occurred a few weeks ago.<\/p>\n

Salt Enterprises has successfully developed several previous projects in the Kingaroy area.<\/p>\n

Council officers recommended development approval for the project be granted subject to usual conditions.<\/p>\n

No commencement date for the project has yet been set.<\/p>\n
