November 5, 2012<\/strong><\/p>\n

Having all 19 Cabinet Ministers in one place provides a perfect opportunity for protest groups to make a point, which is exactly what happened in Kingaroy this evening.<\/p>\n

A small group of protesters gathered quietly with placards and flags on the footpath outside tonight’s Civic Reception for visiting MPs in Glendon Street.<\/p>\n

On the other side of the forecourt a small group of police watched politely.<\/p>\n

Topics covered included uranium mining, job losses, WorkCover and the transfer of the May Day holiday to October.<\/p>\n

The protesters, who represented several unions and The Greens, are expected to return tomorrow morning to greet the MPs as they gather for their Cabinet meeting.<\/p>\n

There have also been reports that nurses will join the protest tomorrow, raising the issue of the closure of Kingaroy’s Farrhome aged care unit.<\/p>\n
