Yarraman librarian Glenda Stimpson is hoping local residents will check out the refurbished library<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Librarian Glenda Stimpson is inviting Yarraman residents to drop in to inspect the newly renovated library.<\/p>\n

The $164,000 makeover of the historic former Post Office by Toowoomba Regional Council has given the building a new lease of life.<\/p>\n

The building has been extended, painted inside and out, and new carpets and moveable shelving installed.<\/p>\n

A new reading room with free wi-fi access, separated from the rest of the library by glass doors, has been created as a quiet area for use by visitors or students.<\/p>\n

Glenda said there were also three free internet terminals for use by the public in the main area of the library.<\/p>\n

New lino has also been laid in the children’s library area.<\/p>\n

Storytime for children is held on the fourth Thursday of the month.<\/p>\n

Disability parking and access has been added at the rear of the building.<\/p>\n

“The library is lovely, new and fresh,” Glenda said. “It is an exciting space now.”<\/p>\n

Opening hours at Yarraman Library have also changed.<\/p>\n

The library is open Tuesdays (10:00am-1:00pm and 2:00pm-5:00pm), Wednesdays (10:00am-1:00pm), Thursdays (10:00am-1:00pm and 2:00pm-5:00pm) and Saturdays (9:00am-noon).<\/p>\n
