Police are reviewing CCTV footage in a bid to catch the people responsible for a string of recent break-ins – and the arson of two motor vehicles – in Nanango.<\/p>\n

Sgt Jason Newton, from Nanango Police, said that late on Wednesday night a car was stolen from a private residence in Nanango.<\/p>\n

That car is then believed to have been used during break-ins at two petrol stations.<\/p>\n

It was later found burned out on the Nanango-Brooklands Road.<\/p>\n

On Saturday night, the scenario was repeated … a vehicle was stolen from a private house and break-ins occurred at a business in King Street, Nanango, and at a petrol station – one of the same businesses previously robbed.<\/p>\n

This time the stolen car was found burned out on Sunday morning on the D’Aguilar Highway at South Nanango.<\/p>\n

Sgt Newton said police believed the same offenders were responsible for both sets of incidents.<\/p>\n

He said detectives from Kingaroy CIB had joined Nanango police to track down those responsible.<\/p>\n

Items stolen included tobacco products, cash and electrical items.<\/p>\n

Sgt Newton said it was very important for residents to keep their houses locked, even if they were at home.<\/strong><\/p>\n

He said both homes where the vehicles had been stolen were unlocked.<\/p>\n

“It’s a very simple thing to keep your house locked, even when you’re inside,” he said.<\/p>\n
