Former Murgon Mustang Gavin Cooper looks set to make his State of Origin debut at the grand “old” age of 30.<\/p>\n

Cooper has been picked in the squad for State of Origin III to replace Canberra player Josh Papalii who has an injured knee.<\/p>\n

The North Queensland Cowboys’ second-rower had been a late call-up to the Maroons’ camp for Origin I but missed out on getting a guernsey.<\/p>\n

It has been a big month for Cooper, who played his 150th game for North Queensland at the weekend … the 20-nil thumping of South Sydney.<\/p>\n

Origin III will be played in Sydney on Wednesday week.<\/p>\n
