Work on smoothing out this sharp corner on the Tingoora Chelmsford Road has seen the road closed for the last two months, but it’s now open to traffic again<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The South Burnett Region Council reopened the Tingoora-Chelmsford Road on Monday after a two-month closure to realign a dangerous corner near Tingoora.<\/p>\n

The Council advised that work crews have now put a primary bitumen seal on the road.<\/p>\n

The Council anticipates a second seal will be applied in September or October, but this will be carried out under traffic control operations to avoid any further road closures.<\/p>\n

Monday’s re-opening puts an end to the project, which originally began in late January but had to be delayed soon afterwards when eleven rare plants were found in the area.<\/p>\n

The discovery of the rare plants caused a two month delay in the project’s schedule.<\/p>\n

During construction, motorists were forced to take a lengthy detour around the project via the Wondai-Chinchilla Road and connecting roads.<\/p>\n
