November 4, 2012<\/strong><\/p>\n

The annual Kumbia Melbourne Cup Race Day – Kumbia’s only annual race meeting – promises to be bigger and better than ever on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

This year, as well as the glamour of the always popular Fashions of the Field, racegoers will have the opportunity of rubbing shoulders with Queensland Premier Campbell Newman who’ll be coming along with some of his Cabinet MPs after a meeting in Kingaroy on Tuesday morning.<\/p>\n

Mr Newman attended the Kumbia meeting last year and had so much fun, he’s decided to return.<\/p>\n

The first race jumps at 12:30pm.<\/p>\n

The feature race, the Huston Ford Kumbia Cup, will be run at 4:10pm.<\/p>\n

There will be full TV coverage of the races from Flemington, including the Melbourne Cup which will be run at 2:00pm (Queensland time), and the on-course bookies will be taking bets on both the local and interstate races. <\/p>\n

There will be buses running from Kingaroy to help punters enjoy the day without the hassle of driving. <\/p>\n
