It was a tough game for the Monto Roos but they kept on trying until the final hooter sounded<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Monto Roos hopped home licking their wounds after a tough encounter against the Cherbourg Hornets at Jack O’Chin Oval on Saturday afternoon.<\/p>\n

The visitors began well enough, and although behind on the scoreboard at halftime 24-12 looked still to be in the game.<\/p>\n

But Cherbourg showed no mercy in the second stanza, scoring seven tries back-to-back before Monto could put any more points on the board.<\/p>\n

Monto also managed a consolation try in the dying seconds, helping to make the final score look a little more respectable at 66-24.<\/p>\n

Cherbourg tries were scored by Keith Walsh (3), Lewis Hopkins (3), Alex Speedy (2), Fred Cobbo (2), Carl Aubrey (2) and Malachi Wallace. Fred Aubrey kicked seven goals.<\/p>\n

Monto tries were scored by Tyson Mitchell (2), Jared Dahtler and Grant Kenealy. Rhys Hawkins kicked four goals.<\/p>\n
