June 22, 2016<\/strong><\/p>\n

A man aged in his 50s has been seriously injured in a fall from a horse at Ironpot, west of Kingaroy.<\/p>\n

A QAS spokesman confirmed a report was received just before 1:00pm Wednesday that the man had fallen from his saddle while riding on a private property near Piper Dodge Mountain Road.<\/p>\n

The man was subsequently dragged behind the horse, before being\u00a0kicked in the head by the animal.<\/p>\n

He suffered serious head and facial injuries as a result of the incident<\/p>\n

Ambulance crews from Jandowae and Kingaroy were despatched to the scene.<\/p>\n

The Toowoomba-based RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter was sent\u00a0 at 1:15pm, and met QAS paramedics on the ground.<\/p>\n

The CareFlight medical staff helped to stabilise the\u00a0\u200bman, before transporting him to Brisbane’s Princess Alexandra Hospital for treatment.<\/p>\n

He was in a serious but stable condition.<\/p>\n
