St Mary’s Catholic College student Harry Bredhauer received a text while he was at school last week … from his mum Amanda.<\/p>\n

It said “Congratulations. You’re captain of the Queensland junior development polocrosse squad”.<\/p>\n

It was a huge surprise for the Year 10 student who hadn’t been expecting this at all.<\/p>\n

Now he’ll be off to Cubbaroo, near Wee Waa,\u00a0next month to lead the Queensland team in a series of carnivals against teams from NSW, Western Australia and the United States.<\/p>\n

Harry has been competing in polocrosse for about four years, usually on his horse “Melody”.<\/p>\n

He is supposed to train every day but admits that schoolwork often gets in the way.<\/p>\n

The Queensland junior development team won’t have a chance to practise together before heading to NSW as they are spread all over the State, but that doesn’t worry Harry.<\/p>\n
