South Burnett wine grape growers will be able to get expert advice on the vagaries of producing good wine grapes later this month.<\/p>\n

The Australian Wine Research Institute (AWRI) will be visiting the region to host a seminar at Tipperary Estate in Moffatdale on Wednesday, June 22.<\/p>\n

The seminar will look at a range of issues including how different wine grape varieties respond to drought and heat stress, and what this means for wine quality.<\/p>\n

Queensland Wine Industry Association President Nick Pesudovs, who is also the winemaker at Dusty Hill Winery in Moffatdale, said the AWRI came to Queensland every two years to carry out research.<\/p>\n

He said AWRI carried out complex scientific studies looking into the fundamentals of wine-making.<\/p>\n

The research they carried out was beyond the ability of individual growers and winemakers.<\/p>\n

AWRI then share their latest discoveries with the industry. <\/p>\n

He said AWRI was acknowledged one of the best research organisations of its kind in the world.<\/p>\n

The seminar is open to anyone interested in wine or in making wine.<\/p>\n

It will begin at 9:00am and the $42.79 seminar fee includes morning tea and lunch.<\/p>\n
