A Nanango motorist learned the hard way on Wednesday that Somerset Street in Kingaroy is a 50km\/h zone after police clocked him allegedly doing 110km\/h.<\/p>\n

The 36-year-old man was pulled over by Kingaroy police about 1:00pm.<\/p>\n

He was issued with a $1099 speeding ticket for a high-speed offence and has automatically lost his licence for six months.<\/p>\n

“61km\/h over the limit is a ridiculous speed,” Officer-in-Charge of Kingaroy Police, Senior Sergeant Duane Frank said.<\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/h3>\n

A 20-year-old Kingaroy man will face a drink-driving charge after police stopped him for a random breath test in Haly Street, Kingaroy, at 1:30am last Saturday.<\/strong><\/p>\n

He allegedly blew 0.09.<\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/h3>\n

On Saturday afternoon, police received reports that a man was acting suspiciously in Haly Street, Kingaroy.<\/strong><\/p>\n

About 3:00pm, they located a man shifting items into his house which were suspected not to be his.<\/p>\n

Police will allege the man took electrical items, a lounge, table and bench which had been stored under another house.<\/p>\n

They believe the items were taken either the evening or the night before.<\/p>\n

A 23-year-old Kingaroy man was arrested and charged with stealing and obstructing police.<\/p>\n

He will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on June 27.<\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/h3>\n

At 11:00pm last Saturday, a police patrol stopped a vehicle in Kingaroy Street.<\/strong><\/p>\n

A search allegedly located a pocket knife with the blade extended and drugs.<\/p>\n

The driver, a 21-year-old man from Kingaroy, was issued with a notice to appear in court charged with possessing a knife.<\/p>\n

The passenger, a 19-year-old Kingaroy man, will face charges of possessing dangerous drugs (amphetamines), possessing drug utensils, and unlawful possession of a weapon (a set of knuckle dusters).<\/p>\n

The men are due to appear in court on June 27.<\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/h3>\n

At 11:00pm last Sunday, Kingaroy police stopped a man with a backpack walking in Haly Street, Kingaroy.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The man was detained by police and searched.<\/p>\n

Police allegedly located prescription medicines in the backpack belonging to another person.<\/p>\n

The man will face two charges of possessing controlled drugs.<\/p>\n

He has been bailed to appear in court on July 4.<\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/h3>\n

On Tuesday, police stopped a Nissan stationwagon in Somerset Street, Kingaroy, about 10:30am.<\/strong><\/p>\n

They found the 25-year-old Kingaroy driver was unlicensed.<\/p>\n

The man’s number plates have been confiscated for 90 days and he was issued with a notice to appear in court.<\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/h3>\n

On Tuesday, police were called to a Kingaroy hotel about 11:00pm regarding the behaviour of a 17-year-old man found in the poker machine room.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The man was allegedly refusing to produce ID confirming his age.<\/p>\n

Snr Sgt Frank said that when the man was asked to leave by hotel staff, he failed to do so.<\/p>\n

Police arrested and charged the man with being a non-exempt minor on licensed premises, refusing to leave a licensed premises, and failing to leave a licensed premises.<\/p>\n

He will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on July 4.<\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/h3>\n

A police patrol in the early hours of last Sunday morning came upon a brawl outside a Kingaroy hotel.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Snr Sgt Frank said the officers stepped in and separated the combatants.<\/p>\n

He said the dispute had allegedly started inside the hotel and spilled out onto the street.<\/p>\n

Three men were arrested and taken into custody: a 19-year-old Wooroolin man, a 20-year-old Kingaroy man and a 24-year-old Kingaroy man.<\/p>\n

The three have each been charged with public nuisance offences and are due to appear in court on July 4.<\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/h3>\n

A 24-year-old Kingaroy man has been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm whilst armed with an offensive weapon, and attempted entry of a building, after an incident in Rae Street, Kingaroy, last Sunday.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Police will allege the man went to a residence and began an argument with people living there over a dog.<\/p>\n

He then allegedly dragged one of the people down the front stairs of the building, and hit him in the face with a metal vaccuum cleaner pipe.<\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/h3>\n

A 45-year-old Nanango man has been charged with evading police, and his Toyota LandCruiser has been seized for 90 days, after an incident on the Bunya Highway at Taabinga last Sunday.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Police attempted to intercept his vehicle but the driver allegedly failed to stop and accelerated away from police.<\/p>\n

The man was located on Monday at his residence.<\/p>\n

He has been issued with a notice to appear in Nanango Magistrates Court on June 23.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
