The Darling Downs West Moreton Public Health Network (DDWM) is looking for nine local community members to play a key role in shaping the future of health across the region.<\/p>\n

A new Community Advisory Committee will be tasked with providing grassroots feedback to the DDWM board.<\/p>\n

The information will assist the distribution of primary health funding into key identified community programs.<\/p>\n

The ultimate outcome of this coordinated team effort will be achieving the best health outcomes for the community.<\/p>\n

“The group should be reflective of the broad regional and rural communities we represent, right across the total spectrum of all health areas,” acting CEO Samantha Freeman said.<\/p>\n

“It is important that we look at all health services from the perspective of people who access them, and we are looking forward to putting a dynamic group of people together who can assist us in this process.”<\/p>\n

Applicants from the South Burnett are encouraged to apply, but must be active in the health community and utilising – or advocating on behalf of – health services.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Selected members must also be prepared to provide feedback at regular Community Advisory Committee meetings that will be relayed to DDWM’s Board.<\/p>\n

Core areas of focus for the group will be Alcohol and Other Drugs, Mental Health, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health, Chronic Disease, Disabilities, Antenatal, and Aged Care and Carers.<\/p>\n

“Our constantly expanding community is reliant on these essential services, and a further expansion of core areas may result with the growth of programs,” Ms Freeman said.<\/p>\n

To submit an application, DDWM requires a one-page letter detailing why you are the right person for the job. <\/p>\n

The Terms of Reference are available by phoning Debbie Frost at DDWM’s office on (07) 4615-0900.<\/p>\n
