A 42-year-old man was airlifted to Bundaberg Hospital with suspected spinal injuries after a police vehicle was involved in a rollover on the Burnett Highway south of Ban Ban Springs on Tuesday afternoon.<\/p>\n

The single-vehicle incident occurred about seven kilometres south of Ban Ban Springs just before noon.<\/p>\n

An RACQ CareFlight spokesman said the man was travelling in the passenger seat of the vehicle which rolled several times down an embankment from the southbound lane of the highway.<\/p>\n

The Bundaberg-based helicopter landed on the road to allow paramedics to assist the patient.<\/p>\n

The man was airlifted to Bundaberg Base Hospital in a stable condition.<\/p>\n

The driver of the vehicle received only minor injuries and did not require transportation.<\/p>\n

A police spokesperson said it appeared the vehicle had been doing a U-turn when it rolled down the embankment, but investigations were still underway.<\/p>\n

It is not known if the injured man is a police officer.<\/p>\n
